Are you a CEO or employee of your own company? Yes, it is possible to be an employee when you own your own business! Most business owners got started to fuel a passion, enjoy more freedom and control their income. However, it is impossible to enjoy these rewards when you are working around the clock. The ugly truth is running a business is not easy. While you may have started your business to fuel your passion, you quickly learned that it’s not what you get to do 100% of the time.
There are multiple components to running a successful business. There’s accounting, business development, marketing, budgeting and more. Too often, small business owners take on these tasks, thinking they are not big enough or cannot afford to hire help. The result? The feeling of overwhelm and eventually burn out. How would you like to learn how to unleash your creativity and focus on your sweet spot in the business without burning yourself out?
Learn the answer to this burning question at our March FAB Event. DeKesha Williams with Vizions Consulting is an expert in working with business owners to maximize their potential by helping them build systems for productivity. She will be sharing the value of outsourcing as a small business owner. She will reveal the key players you need on your business team to build a successful six figure business. You will learn:
- The buck doesn’t have to stop with you. Learn the value of outsourcing and how to do it in an effective and affordable way
- Relevancy equates to revenue. Learn how to focus on revenue generating activities that will keep your organization growing and in the black.
- Build your empire. Learn how to develop a larger vision for your business.

Have you ever been punched in the gut? It takes the wind right out of you. We often equate this painful analogy with more traumatic events in our lives, like the loss of a loved one, heartache or a terminal illness. The Top Mistakes You Don’t Know You’re Making
Most businesses fail because they make these 5 critical but avoidable mistakes. If you are in business you are likely making at least one of these mistakes right now or a bunch of others that can send you careening into a legal landmine. Are you protecting your business to the fullest extent possible? Do you worry that one legal misstep will send your business tumbling into freefall? Overwhelmed by seemingly contradictory requirements? Don’t worry. You are not alone.
You will leave knowing:
- The “must have” agreements to protect your business.
- How to arm yourself against the everyday threats that can destroy your business.
- How to get past the legal mumbo-jumbo and know what really matters.
After more than 20 years as a business lawyer and litigator, Nancy Greene was tired of seeing the heartbreak of business owners who’d lost everything from mistakes that could’ve been avoided. Through her professional experience, Nancy has seen very limited legal resources for small to mid-sized businesses. It became her mission to demystify the legal field and help businesses leverage the law. Nancy developed a series of YouTube Videos, blog posts, and launched a book in September of 2016 – all with the goal of helping business owners avoid the Legal Landmines that can destroy their businesses. An Amazon best-selling author, member of the National Association of Professional Women, NAPW Woman of the Year 2012/2013, and EWomen Network platinum member. When Nancy is not practicing law, she spends her time on her horse farm with her husband and two teenage boys and writes fiction.

On April 21, 2018, Transitions Family Violence Services (TFVS) will celebrate the communities’ efforts to end domestic violence on the Virginia Peninsula by hosting the 3rd Annual Champions Unmasking Domestic Violence…A Masquerade and Casino Ball at the Newport News Marriott in City Center.
This year marks 40 years of service to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Despite the countless families we have assisted over the years, the issue of domestic violence continues to be prevalent in our community. In 2016, Transitions provided 5,415 nights of emergency shelter to women, men and children fleeing abuse. Community support from municipalities, businesses, community members and volunteers allow us to offer services without a cost to families.
This annual event helps us raise funds to continue to offer lifesaving services for free while bringing awareness to the issue of domestic violence.

We spend most of our lives trying to avoid failure. No one wants to fail, but did you realize that failure is not fatal? It’s an opportunity to learn. Life is full of ups and downs; there is no magical formula to create a perfect outcome in all our endeavors. We are going to fail, and that’s okay! Think of a child learning to ride a bike. It’s challenging, at first. The child falls countless times. And, each fall is painful, sometimes drawing blood. But, each time that child gets back up and mounts their bike, they are armed with knowledge they didn’t know before. Each fall taught them something, until they are experts at riding a bike. Isn’t that how we navigate life, through a series of try, fail and adjust?
Would you like to learn how to embrace your failures and use them to propel you into success? Join us for our West End FAB where our own, Mama Frat (Dominique Frataccia), will share her own experience in using failure as a tool to propel her success in business and life. We cannot avoid pain in our lives, but we can control whether we choose to suffer. Mama Frat will share specific tips and practices to help you see the bright side of your failures. You’ll walk away from this event with:
- The ability to feed your faith so your doubts don’t starve you to death
- Inspiration to leave the past in the past and embrace your bright future
- A different perspective on failure, discovering a new version of yourself
Are you ready to fail forward? Register for this event today.

- Create and schedule a daily plan
- Identify and eliminate internal and external distractions
- Organize your workspace and your mind
- Create processes for efficiency and freedom
